"I seriously doubted that State Farm would be lower than Progressive but they were by almost $200. I thought it would be time consuming changing from one to another and it got done in maybe 45 minutes. (And I was quoted with 3 vehicles, 5 potential drivers, & a slightly different living situation, car ownership & payment arrangements.) Both John and Joe were great. John was adamant with my mom he could beat Progressive & kept trying. I’m glad he did. Joe did the actual quote but it was a smooth transition. Joe was awesome, informative, one thing I remember is I asked a question but it wasn’t coming out clearly so I said never mind. Joe responded, “no, what we’re asking?” I do the same thing and it’s bc I really want to know the question and so did he. We switched car insurance that day. Thank you John and Joe. "I have been with State Farm Insurance for more than 40 years. I have lived in 4 different cities and dealt with 4 different agents. Over the years, I have received quotes from other insurance companies, but State Farm has always been competitive and agents were helpful. But working with State Farm lately has changed. It started 6 months ago when a condo policy doubled in price with no claims against it. I then started checking my other State Farm policies vs. competition. A couple months ago, I switched our 3 automobiles because the competitor’s rate was half vs. State Farm. This was after we received a large double-digit increase in homeowners insurance, but Joe, our agent’s assistant, was helpful and did a great job in getting the policy’s cost reduced. After switching auto, we received a significant price increase regarding our umbrella liability policy. We had just paid the policy, then received an endorsement premium, an extra charge for the umbrella policy I believe because we dropped auto insurance. Our umbrella liability policy quadrupled vs. the previous year! My wife and I heard nothing from Shawn, the agent, during this process. We do not understand why. I have been told that State Farm agents have no control regarding pricing, but you would think the agent would be in contact, especially after we spent close to $25,000 each year in recent years for our State Farm insurance policies. In addition, with such large policy increases lately, what is the rationale? What is the explanation? Why not a bundle discount? Why no communication from our agent? After 40+ years of doing business with State Farm Insurance, we have dropped all of our Indiana policies and moved onto other insurance carriers."
